Dental records positively identify body found in woods | News

Authorities in northern Idaho say they have identified the body that was found in a wooded area in Ponderay earlier this month.

The Ponderay Police Department said the body was found Dec. 15 in a wooded area north of Schweitzer Plaza Drive. Police said the remains were identified as Brendan Earl Carpenter, 22, of Sandpoint.

Ponderay police said Carpenter was identified using dental records. The autopsy is still pending and the cause of death has not been confirmed.

Carpenter was reported missing in June.
