Help Sandpoint Celebrate! | Community Spirit

Sandpoint is ready to celebrate... and for all the right reasons. Here's why:

1) The 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team out of Post Falls just returned home from a year long deployment in Iraq.

2) USA Today just (over the Summer) awarded Sandpoint the honor of 'Most Beautiful Small Town in America'

3) It's Oktoberfest.

So, the City plans on celebrating all three in a First Thursday event. The Mayors of Sandpoint and Ponderay will issue a proclamation welcoming home the troops and thanking them for their service.

The City says it will celebrate with Ponderay for joining forces and nominating the area to the 'Most Beautiful Small Town' contest. They say it's the community that makes the area worth living in. The Cities plan to celebrate those people with an "Oktoberfest twist". You have to go to find out what that is.

First Thursday is this week, October 6th, at City Beach on the Lawn of Trinity. The fun starts at 5:30.
