Birthday Fire increases to 600-acres near Bonners Ferry

Due to low humidity and breezy conditions, the Birthday Fire has increased to about 600-acres in size since we last reported it yesterday.

It was sparked on Monday by lightning and is burning near Abandon Mountain, 20 air-miles northwest of Bonners Ferry.

The fire is currently burning across mixed ownership, including land owned by the U.S. Forest Service, Idaho Department of Lands, Forest Capital LLC, and some private land. Full suppression efforts are being implemented to prevent further spread of the fire onto private lands.

The owners believe that because he does not have vaccinations, the thief might bring the puppy to a veterinarian to have him checked out. He'll be easy to spot, his left eye is blue.
